St Mary's RC Primary School

Full of grace, we grow and learn together

Chair and Vice-Chair Introduction

Martin Saunders

I have been a Governor at St Mary’s RC for about 9 years and at the end of 2014 I became the Chair of the Governors. I have been on the Resources Committee (looking at finances, the school building and more recently marketing) since the committee started about 5 years ago.

My two children attended St Mary’s RC and both had a wonderful experience. My youngest son left the school in 2014 and is now at St Anne’s RC High School. My family has lived in Heaton Norris since 2003 and we attend mass at St Mary’s where both children were confirmed. I work in Stockport for Stockport Homes.

I wanted to be a governor to provide whatever help I could to the school so that other children can have the positive experience mine did.

Mary Wheeler

I have been a governor at St Mary’s for about 13 years and I am currently Vice Chair of Governors. I sit on both the Resources Committee and the Teaching and Learning Committee.

My connection with the school goes back to when I started school here 62 years ago and I have seen many changes in that time.  My children and grandchildren have attended the school and two are still here.

I run a playgroup in school twice a week and enjoy seeing the children progress through the school.

I have had particular interest and involvement in upgrading our facilities and environment to the best we can – making a safe, pleasant surroundings for the children’s learning experience.
